We are proud of our record of putting your donations to work effectively.

In fiscal year ending Auguts 31, 2007, Easter Seals directly served over 1,500 children and adualts with disabilities or special needs and their families.  Services address the needs of children and adults who are disabled at birth, through injury or illness, and by the functional limitations experienced in the aging process.

Easter Seals Vision

Easter Seals Vision 2010 is "Believing that all people should enjoy access, opportunities and independence, Easter Seals will serve five million people with disabilities and other special needs and their families annually by the year 2010."

In 2007, Easter Seals

  • Influenced the lives of 140,000 tri-Counties residents and their families who live with disabilities.
  • Engaged with 15,000 volunteers, donors and the general public via face-to-face opportunities, Web site actions and online exchanges, mail and other correstpondence.
  • Provided Direct Services to 1,546 inidividuals with disabilities and their families in San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties.

How Your Gifts are Spent

As of August 31, 2007, combined functional expenses of $2,980,926 were allocated to:

  • Program Services Total: 89%
  • Supporting Services Total: 11%

Easter Seals 2007 total public support and revenue of $2,792,561 funds programs and services including:  

  • 2 centers in Ventura and Santa Barbara offering physical and occupational therapy services, speech therapy and audiology, outpatient medical rehabilitation, and early intervention.
  • 3 Toddler Learning Center Playgroups at various locations in Ventura County providing group and individual therapy and family education.
  • an Early Childhood Education Center for children 18 months through 5 years of age with full and half-day inclusive preschool programs for typically-functioning and special needs children. 
  • an Aquatic Rehabilitation and Recreation Center offering aquatic therapy and recreation classes as well as swim lessons.
  • an Equipment Loan Program with 15-20 wheelchairs, walkers, stools and other pieces of equipment out in the community at any one time.
