Easter Seals Tri-Counties offers a unique indoor aquatic facility with a variety of exercise opportunities in an ideal setting for anyone looking for rehabilitation and/or fitness services. Our facility features an indoor pool measuring 60 ft. long and 24 ft wide with depths ranging from 3 to 5 ft. The pool temperature is maintained at a therapeutic 94 degrees. The pool also features a hydraulic lift and a water wheelchair with ramp access to provide easy accessibility for people who may need additional support.
Why 94° Water:
The buoyancy and warmth of the water helps to decrease pain and facilitate muscle relaxation, allowing for greater flexibility and range of motion. Our goal is to help increase circulation, toning and strengthening for all especially those with limited ability to exercise out of the water.
Fitness and Rehabilitation:
The uniqueness of our facility is highlighted through our Fitness & Rehabilitation Program which offers a variety of exercise classes and is ideal for strengthening through resistance training. Special aquatic equipment helps to isolate body parts for a more specific workout. Our Fitness & Rehabilitation program is designed to encourage those with and without physical limitations. The Fitness program is also ideal for those who have completed their course of physical therapy and wish to continue an exercise regime. We offer a wide variety of classes designed for those suffering or recovering from:
- Low Back Pain
- Arthritis
- Stroke
- Fibromyalgia
Those looking for a high intensity aerobic workout are encouraged to join our Aquamotion classes, a blend of high intensity resistance training and a low impact aerobic workout, in order to develop cardiovascular endurance and good techniques for balance and stability. All classes emphasize increasing range of motion, strengthening core muscles, muscular endurance, balance work, and to promote overall healthy living.
Learn-to-Swim Program:
The Learn-to-Swim program offers swim lessons to children and adults of all abilities beginning as young as 6 months of age. All classes are taught to the American Red Cross standards and all swim instructors are certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructors, along with being CPR and First Aid certified.
